I’ve been attending Sheepdog events with my son since he was nine—he’s now eleven—this has been a bonding experience and is something I cherish throughout these formative years. My son has an absolute blast and literally counts down the days until the next event. The moment we finish one, he’s already asking to know when the next Sheepdog event will be. My all-time favorite was the “Protect” event. This is where kids and parents had a chance to learn introductory jiu-jitsu techniques together. That single event sparked a passion that still burns bright two years later. My son and I continue to train side by side, sharing the challenges and reaping the rewards of Jiu Jitsu. It gave us a common ground and countless father-and-son memories that mean the world to me. Surrounded by positive role models and like-minded families, we both came away with an even deeper sense of purpose and connection.
If you’re looking for something truly rewarding to do with your kids, I can’t recommend Sheepdog events enough. Sign up for the next one—you won’t regret it!

Like many parents, I wanted to help my kids build confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of purpose—but I wasn’t always sure how to make that happen. Then, I found Project SheepDog, and it turned out to be the perfect opportunity.
Through this program, I watched my son step out of his comfort zone like never before. Whether he was learning self-defense techniques or pushing through the challenges of a ruck event, he developed the skills to protect himself and the mental toughness to keep going, even when things got tough.
But the most valuable part of this journey wasn’t just what he learned—it was what we learned together. Project SheepDog strengthened our bond in ways I never expected, deepening our trust and connection as father and son. It gave us tools to grow, not just as individuals, but as a team.
I’m incredibly grateful for the impact this program has had on our lives, and I want to personally thank the entire Project SheepDog team for their dedication, guidance, and support. This experience has truly been a blessing to our family.

Project Sheepdog is necessary! It’s important for fathers to engage their children in different settings. This ministry has organized fun competitive games, community services, and held self defense classes all while providing opportunities for families to bond in a safe wholesome manner. We are grateful for Project SheepDog.

I was first introduced to Project Sheepdog during an event called “Nerf War 2.0”. Not only did the event present itself as a fun opportunity for me to bond with my kids, but it also created a space for me to bond with my two nephews. The event in my eyes was a huge success. On our ride home, I wanted to see if my kids or nephews shared the same sentiment. Surprisingly, it was my 15 year old nephew who expressed how he wanted to continue attending Project Sheepdog events. It wasn’t just because of the nerf bullets flying in all directions, the stellar obstacles that were built, or the many laughs we shared ducking for cover. He was genuinely inspired by the words shared by Ray at the start of the event regarding the core values of Protect-Provide-Persevere. I believe he was able to receive some clarity and direction on how he wanted to continue to grow as a young man that day.
Having a community of fathers who are ready and willing to impact the next generation is huge in this day and age. I would highly recommend any of the upcoming events as my family and I were blessed by Project Sheepdog! -

My kids and I have attended multiple SheepDog events, and we’ve had an absolute blast. It’s tough to find group events for fathers and kids that are both faith-based and exciting. I’ve even brought my nephews and a co-worker’s husband and son—they all loved it and kept asking about the next event.
One of the things I appreciate most about SheepDog is how its core values are woven into every event. Beyond just being fun, there’s always a meaningful message that sticks with us. My kids, who are 14, 16, and 17, genuinely look forward to each event. I still remember when my now 17-year-old was 15 at the Nerf War event. I wasn’t sure if he’d want to participate, but he ended up joining in—and he had an incredible time.
SheepDog has given me a platform to be intentional about spending quality time with my kids. With the demands of sports and busy schedules, it can be hard to make time for all three of them, but these events create those opportunities. On top of that, I’ve built strong friendships with other dads—friendships that have been both supportive and encouraging. As fathers, it’s not always easy to find other men who understand the challenges we face, but through SheepDog, I’ve connected with like-minded dads who lift each other up.
I love spending time with my kids, but I also value the chance to build new friendships with other fathers who are committed to growing as men.
Let’s go, SheepDog!
